Elevate your coaching skills from fundamental to advanced with this 12-module course designed to deepen your understanding of relational coaching concepts. This program provides a psychological framework for working with the complex dynamics that emerge in your coaching relationships.
Designed for coaches with experience, this course will help you become more conscious of your inner world, more attuned to others, and more grounded in your work. You’ll learn to use your professional relationship with clients as a window into what is happening in their lives, leading to meaningful and lasting change.
Course Structure and Learning Objectives
This year-long program consists of 12 modules, running from January to December 2026.
The program is ICF CCE approved for 13 CC and 7 RD CCEUs
The course is philosophically and structurally aligned with the NEW ICF Core Competencies.
Each module includes presented material, experiential learning, and opportunities for supervision.
Module topics include
- Relationship (January): Go beyond simply “managing” relationships to truly understand the implicit dimensions of relating with clients.
- Transference (February): Learn to recognize when a client’s past is brought into the present and how to work with it effectively.
- Countertransference (March & April): Explore your own reactions to clients and learn to use this awareness as a valuable tool for insight.
- Parallel Process (May): Understand how a client’s issues can be reflected in your own behavior as a practitioner.
- Practitioner’s Cognitive Biases (June): Unpack the mental shortcuts that can subtly influence your judgment and decision-making.
- Defences (July): Learn to work appropriately with psychological defenses that may be preventing clients from achieving their goals.
- Devaluing & Discounting (August): Identify and address ineffective problem-solving that can cause clients to get stuck.
- Stages of Growth and Development (September): Gain a clear framework for ethically and professionally conducting depth work in coaching.
- Relational Symbiosis (October): Discover how to identify and respond to unhealthy relational patterns that hinder a client’s autonomy.
- Working Styles & Drivers (November): Help clients leverage their strengths by understanding the unconscious adaptations that influence their behavior.
- Integration & Reflective Practice (December): Wrap up the year by integrating your personal and professional learning and developing a framework for ongoing reflective work.
What's Included?
The CCE program meets the standards for ICF CCE approval (13 CC and 7 RD CCEUs). The course is philosophically and structurally aligned with the NEW Core Competencies.
You’ll also get significant supervision time (which you can apply for Core Competency CCEs, max 10):
- 9 hours of in-module supervision.
- 3 hours of one-to-one, inter-module supervision. This includes a one-hour one-on-one session each quarter to reflect on your learning and its application to your practice.
